Mitali Nag REVEALS why her character is important in the plot of ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?’
Mitali plays the mother of the male lead, Barun Sobti in the show.
Actress Mitali Nag gave birth to a cute little baby boy recently. But instead of enjoying her maternity bliss, the actress is up and working, and is currently seen in Star Plus’ Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? as Barun Sobti’s character, Advay Singh Raizada’s mother.
Mitali, who is seen playing a mother to the younger Advay (her character is killed while Advay is still young) says that she is very happy to be part of this franchise.
Says Mitali, “The return of Barun as the grown up Advay, has raised many expectations. I am also very happy to be doing this cameo for firstly, it gave me a chance to see how I will be able to work with my five-month-old child. It was easy as the production house helped me a lot. If my son would cry, I was given time to calm him down. Infact, I bring him to set with his toys and cot etc…”
Elaborating more on her character Mitali reveals, “Secondly, my character is equally important since the current conflict between Advay (Barun Sobti) and Chandni ( Shivani Tomar) is based on the happenings of his past. So my stint is very important as in a way, we set the stage for the further story.”
Mitali’s track will soon come to an end in the show and the actress has only some key portions to shoot as of now.
Talking about Barun, Mitali says, “He is a very warm person and all the charm that he has explains his huge fan following. He has also grown as an actor over the years. I have been liking his initial performance in the show so far. At first, my fans were upset when it was reported that I was playing mother to Barun who is only a year younger to me, but I did not want to reveal the story, so I simply told them to have faith.”
Speaking about Shivani Tomar, Mitali is all praises.
Says Mitali, “Shivani is way more pretty in real life than on-screen. I told her the same and she was thankful. She is also very warm and sweet.”
Mitali also revealed that Bollywood actresses Seema Azmi and Ritu Shivpuri both, are a treat to work with. “The entire cast is very good. It was a pleasant experience bumping into my friend Seema Azmi (Chak De India fame) with whom I had recently done a play. Last but not the least, I really admire Bollywood actress, Ritu Shivpuri who does not throw any filmy air,” the actress expressed.
Speaking about her career, Mitaali mentions that she is open to all types of roles, “I take the pain to make sure that I do not to get typecast. After Afsar Bitiya, I started getting the similar type of demure roles. I refused to do them. And now, I am playing a mother to a young boy. I will again ensure that I do different stuff to impress my fans and also satiate the actor within me.”
Way to go Mitali!
