Sher-E-Punjab: Maharaja Ranjit Singh’ to introduce an ‘INDIAN-BRITISH’ character!

The historical drama will introduce the character tonight.

‘Sher-E-Punjab: Maharaja Ranjit Singh’ (Life OK), a historical drama revolving around the Sikh warrior king is set to introduce a British character.

The serial follows a young Ranjit Singh and his journey as a ruler. In stark opposition, the show will feature the British troupe that is moving in to invade Punjab.

The British leader will be played by Gaurav Vasudev who has been seen in shows such as Uttaran, Jaanbaaz Sindbaad, Suryaputra Karn, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein among other shows and has essayed cameo roles.

When asked about the tone of this British character, Gaurav said that he himself hails from Punjab so doing something like this is contradictory to his personality.

Elaborating on his entry in the serial the actor says, “My role will be that of a British invader. The foreigners have already begun to inflict their atrocities on the Indians and they turn towards Punjab”.

On his character, the actor stated, “This is the first time that I am playing such a role. I had to perfect a British accent (the kind ‘wannabe’ migrants speak).”
